Hello jeb. I used to have had sleep talking as was told by my wife and sometimes I could feel it myself because I woke up right away with a fresh memory. It is interesting to have sleep talking. I am wondering how come it so happens to us.

Maybe because our subconscious mind is still awake and our body is too tired so the tendency is that our subconscious mind is the one that takes over while we are sleeping...

Of course i talk while i sleep. Nice to know the term for that. Previously it was my sister and now it is my husband who wakes up when i talk while i sleep, wakes me up and and asks me to sleep again. He dosent do all the time though..he wakes me up only when i shout in my sleep. Hope i will stop this talking some day. It is a disturbance for my husband although he dosent think so.

Every once in a while, I have laughed in my sleep or maybe hit someone or the wall in my sleep. I do have a friend that talks in her sleep all the time. It is hilarious some of the things she says - lol

I have a roommate in college who does that very often. It occurs when he's usually stressed out. My other roommates found it very funny sometimes because we would talk to him and he would EVEN reply. His answers would be not related to the topic we're talking about. I somehow believ that it is related to dreams. In my dreams, I am speechless. There was a time when I shouted in my dream I was mute. Then I exerted effort and I shouted then I was awakened. Maybe my friend's vocal cords are not sensitive enough to wake him up when he talks in his dreams.

yes, due to stress that's why some of us do sleeptalk. the other thing that you mentioned that when you shout you were mute, it happened to me too, a lot. it's what you call nightmare. you are awake already at your sleep but your body is not. the thing that i do here is pray and sleep again because sometimes the more that we tried shouting or talking for somebody to hear, it stress us too much at our sleep so it's better to pray and sleep again. i think this is due to too much stress also because this usually happened to me when i'm stressed out. thanks again for posting. God bless.
