‘Abeg, Queen Dey Go Toilet!’

We were surprised that two friends nearly fought over an issue concerning the Most Beautiful girl in Nigeria (MBGN), Miss Abiola Bashorun, at a recent ceremony in Silverbird Galleria, Lagos. While the argument lasted the queen was not aware. The bone of contention was when Abiola excused herself from the judges’ seat. A young lady, who saw her move toward a direction, told her friend that the queen was going to the toilet. This was because she had sat down for long as one of the judges. "It cannot be!" replied the other friend. "What do you mean it cannot be? Please Queen they go wee wee for toilet!" The issue almost generated heated argument, but thank goodness, they were quieted by the queen’s return to her seat. What we don’t know is the reason some people would never believe that queens also go to the loo (toilet). Maybe our dear Abiola Bashorun looks just too stylish and sophisticated to do that. Or what do you think?
