When it is the cold and wintry season....what is the funniest way that you can tell it's cold in your house? For us...it's when I pull some clothes out of my dresser drawers to put on and they're chillier than the room air and I have to put them in the dryer for a few minutes first before putting them on! NOW that's cold! lol...
How about you? How do you know when it's REALLY cold in your house?

When I wake up and I'm opn the very edge of the bed, because my husband has creeped and creeped over to my side of the bed. We live in a crappy rental house with single pane windows, and there are 2 on his side of the bed. The draft is so cold, he inches away from the windows all night to get into my warm spot... and I end up almost falling on the floor!

As soon as I step on the floor! Most of our house has old wood floors with really bad flooring (we rent) on them and I know its gonna be a cold day when i climb out of bed and hit that floor! When its below zero the floors are horribly cold!

It is cold in this leaky trailer with the plastic on the windows ballooning out into our rooms. We wear socks and often our robe over our day clothing. When we have 2 blankets over the door. Then we sure know it is cold. It was 30 degrees today and the wind was low and the sun shined. The trailer was ever so much more comfortable.

We wear big sweaters over our regular clothes and slippers over our socks. With the two toddlers, I put long underwear under the winter pjs and slippers over them to keep them warm. Our house is only 10yrs old, but after moving in, we found out that the people that were building it went bankrupt, so the contractor finished builing the house REALLY cheap (like hardly any insulation and windows not sealed well). Anyway, we put plastic over our windows and caulk them too.

My husband is always complaining about the heat in my house, because I have it running non stop all day. I am going to be able to tell very shortly that is is cold, because I have been sitting here at my pc for the last couple of hours. The heating went off about half an hour ago and I have now donned an extra sweater. I will get as far as putting a rug around my shoulders and then it will be so cold that I will have to go to bed.

I don't let it get that cold !!!!! I keep our wood stoves blazing to the point I have to open the windows at -40. I refuse to be cold in my own home.
I spend too much time outside doing chores and freezing my buns off, that when I come back in, it had better be warm and toasty.

LOL That is funny! I take my clothes in and hold them by the heat stove to warm them up.
