Dixie Chicks have come back! 5 grammys last night!

If you didn't see the grammys last night, the Dixie Chicks won ALL 5 awards they were nominated for! Sweet Victory for them, after they were boycotted and disappeared from country radio. The five awards that they won were:
Album of the Year: Taking the Long Way
Record of the Year: Not Ready to Make Nice
Song of the Year: Not Ready to Make Nice
Country Album: Taking the Long Way
Country Performance by Duo or Group with Vocal: Not Ready to Make Nice
The standing ovations that they received illustrated how much the political climate has changed regarding the president and the Iraq war. I believe they did a fanctastic job on their latest album.

I personally like the Dixie Chicks, I love their music. I do however not have a positive feeling about them. They still appear to be arrogant towards the fans and all the trouble that was caused by Natalie's statement. I've only seen bits and pieces on the tv here and there, and this is the impression that stays with me. I miss thier music, they are so very talented. But if they want to get more fans back on their side, they need to lighten up and not use their music or notoriety for their political opinions. It's a real turn off.

I think that they are perfectly entitled to voice an opinion just like everyone else. Some people don't seem to agree with that though and tried to boycott the Chicks. The success of the "Top Of The World Tour" proved that they had failed to do this. The fans turned out in the thousands and despite all of the flak that has been fired at them, these awards have proved that it has not done them any harm. I was delighted by these awards! Good luck to them.

We were all waiting to hear the results and cheering everytime they won! :) I loved the Dixie Chicks through all that political stuff and listened to them all along. Their political views have nothing to do with their talent and they have a right to state their opinions as well as any other citizen of this country. :) And I agree....they did do a fantastic job on their latest album!

I didn't see the Grammys, but that is very good news. The crap they had to deal with was absolutley uncalled for, and will probably be one of my pet peeves for the rest of my life.
My $0.02 at the moment.
