Do you miss your "old self"?

Do you ever miss the person you used to be? I realized today that I miss who I used to be. I didn't realize how much I had changed until I started thinking about it. There is nothing wrong with who I am today, and I can't be the same person I was years ago. I am going to try to get back into some of the things I was into then that made me happy, as well as change some of the things I do now.

My answer to this would be a resounding YES. I would love to be back in my 30's or 40's. Those two decades are the best it gets. By no means is life over at 50 but those two decades for most people are the best. As you age you very slowly loose what you took for granted. And it is insidous in that it creeps up on you. Now the question would be do you want to go back and do it all over again? No not just as it was. But to have a chance to be that age and know what I know now. You are about to have a baby. That means you are in the truly great years of your life. But regardless of age the truly best time is now. Right now.....because we are in it. We look back and can see things we would do differently. But somehow most of us do not realize now is the time to do what makes us happy. And you have all the tools to do it with that you didn't have back when we are young. Love the moment you are in and you will be eternally happy.

I dont miss the person I used to be because that core person never went anywhere, I'm still the same nutcase I was 20 yrs, 15 yrs ago and so on..I think the only difference now really is that I am me with tremedous pride whereas way back when I was very shy and kept my true me to myself and my closests friends ya know....Now I'm nuts all the time LOL....I do however miss on occasion being as free as I was before kids but its only ever fleeting moments and I love being a mom and my kids way too much to go backwards...I miss being on the road and dancing like it was way back too..but again its only on occasion and the biz has changed so much it doesnt bother me all that much...

I know I do. Ever since I have become a mom the children and the hubby always come first.I have stopped doing many of the things that I used to really enjoy. I was really into photography to the point where I had thought of becoming a pro.

Before working in the society, my mind was much simpler. There was no worldly thoughts in my head. I would be very happy with just a simple meal. Now my behaviour is just like the business people who crave for monetary benefits only. However, if I go back to my old self, everything has to start from scratch again This is why I have to stick to the present self, at least before I am too old to pursue my ambitions.
