Yes, I think teacher should get paid alot more. They have to put up with immature kids these days and yell and everything. After all that they get paid so little! I don't call that fair! Teachers are hard workers, trying to educate kids into becoming smarted and have knowledge of the world.
Some teachers are not always like that though...

I do believe that teachers are paid very little for the hard work they do and the effort they put in to help our kids learn and grow and become more intelligent. They need to be given higher salaries, otherwise we will have nobody to teach our kids about various subjects. They do have to deal a lot with different personalities, both good and bad. Teaching can be a very stressful job.

Yes they should be paid more and so should sub teachers, both put up with bratty spoiled kids and kids who know no discipline and think they can get away with anything. They put up with parents who have no control and do not want their kid in trouble but take no responsibilty for their child's behavior.

If everyone shall be asked about their basic pay, per figure that they get it's fine. It is the take home pay where the problem lies. The take home pay becomes so little because they get loans from the left to the right. Whatever they can lay their hands on, including those loan sharks which really have excessive interest rates. These practice is not true for teachers only, even other employees do this which include those in the private sector. The truth of the matter is, if only these employed people will only learn to budget their incomes, they will make it at decent levels of living. They must be made to stop from taking those left, right, front, back, from atop and from down under loans. The money they get from the loans are usually spent only on matters which are not of much importance. It will be wise to bear in mind that, the salary we are receiving has been computed to see us through as we carry our tasks. The computation does not include our extravagance in terms of clothes, make-up and food. To everyone then I say, please learn to budget. Remember so many employed individuals are making it through life without much grumbles and yet their basic pay is actually much lower than those of the teachers!

It seems to depend on where you live. I know that in certain parts of the country teachers are paid a decent salary. But here where I live, I feel that teachers are underpaid. They are responsible for educating our children and they deserve alot of credit for their dedication and hard work.

Yes I do think so! they should even get paid as much as doctors and lawyers do because they play the role of the parents (and that includes priceless care, love, affection, headaches, sacrifice and time). These days, the role of disciplining, being subtitute parents, encouraging, implanting values and the hardships of having a hard-headed child is carried by teachers. But this would also mean that teachers must be qualified enough. Im so upset that my classmate in the practicum subject (she is graduating this march)and after four years of studying, she still cannot teach properly. She doesn't even know what she's teaching. Is scares me a lot because Im going to be aparent someday and I asked myself, is she the kind of teacher that I would want to entrust my child to someday?
So being a teacher means taking a lot of responsibility, I guess, their pay should be equivalent to their output.

your right... teachers like me should get paid more. because we work hard for our students to learn and be a better person. we too have our needs but having a little money for whta we do its not enough. teachers are people who gets tired but still smiles for the students not to feel uneasy to us. we listen, understand and love our students. as they say we teachers are the second parent of our student.
