How to win friends?

Dealing with people whom I don't personally know is very hard for me to do. I don't know but I am afraid that they might not respond very well upon approaching them. I have read books about how to win friends but the applicaton in actual situation is much harder that I thought. Well I am gald if I will win more friends but how or what will be the best way to approach a total stranger whom you want to be your friend? .

I think you might be psyching yourself out, seraphim. In practice you don't make friends with total strangers. You make their acquaintance, then see if you want to develop that acquaintance. "Friends", by the way, is a relative term. Real friends are rare enough. You don't make friends, either, they make a friend of you, in roughly equal proportions. Friendship is a two sided thing, and it's not really up to you whether they like you or not. Suggestion: Be yourself, and find people you like.

Oops, thank you for correcting me on this. I have learned new from you. This is great and I think I have to continue this wether I will earn or not. I like your suggestion and I want to find more people like you who can give good advise and information.
