Why do you pray?

I pray all throughout the day. If I have a question or thanks or anything that I just need or want or feel like talking about I'll just start talking to God in my head. I guess it's like praying but I'm not on my knees...I could just be walking in the store shopping for groceries and thinking, or standing in line at the bank and waiting to be helped. It sounds kind of weird when I'm trying to explain it but when I do it it's just normal, not weird to me at all. I've been a Christian almost all of my life (raised a Christian) and I've been saved since I was around 6 or 7...maybe even earlier than that. If you're also a Christian then I'm sure you do this, too. I pray to also get closer to God, to ask Him to allow me to understand Him a little more each time, to ask Him for things for myself, too, such as patience or protection for my family, to let Him know my faith, I guess I pray for every reason possible!! I hope this answers your question lol ...I can ramble on if you'll let me :)

Nowadays, God speaks to people thru the Holy Bible which is the Word of God which is the truth. People speak to God thru prayers. I pray because I'd like to talk to God to thank Him for all the blessings and everything that He bestowed upon me. In my prayer, I also petition God to grant me all the things that I want to be done, I praise Him, I ask forgiveness for all the sins that I have done and thru this I am forgiven as stated in the Holy Bible that even if I am a sinner, I become clean and holy to be able to be with God. I also pray for other people, etc. I pray always in the name of our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, to honor Him and so that our Father in heaven would listen to my prayers because no one and nothing can go to the Father except thru the Son. I pray and read the Holy Bible to keep my communication with God continuing to maintain our relationship as Father and child.
