I consider this biased.Women in India are expected to wear mangalsutra, toe rings, kumkum on their fore head etc to indicate that they have attained martial status. But men are not expected to wear anything.Pl. do express you views on this topic.

I know I responded to this before but I wanted to say that my husband fasts on Karwachauth with me praying for my long life so if we can invent a custom which will require married man to wear the marriage symbol along with their wives I am sure a lot of husbunds will be happy to follow it to show their devotionn to their wives.

Modern women do not wear all that and claim the same independence as man do. I haven't worn any of these for a long time. It is Indian man's way to control and put down the women while they want to be free like "A bull without the nose ring". Well a man in USA is expected to wear a ring to show that he is married. I think it is time that Indian women make their husbands wear a sign of marriage.

I agree that more women than men wear symbols of matrimony, I wear a wedding ring but my husband doesn't. Maybe it is because rings are seen as being more feminine I don't know.
In the case you are talking about if women have to wear that much then men should certainly wear something as well.
