Lying for a good reason

Some People believe that lying for a good reason is far better then saying 100 truth. They say that if a lie can save someone's life or do good to people then its not a lie. In short term basis it seems like it is doing good and the only solution. I personally believe that in long term basis it cannot be a right thing to do. What you all Say?

I agree with you. A lie is a lie no matter how good your intentions are. There are times when it might seem better to lie but in the long term it is best to tell the truth.

A lie is a lie, no matter what we say. And that hurts. It's better to say the truth, but it should be done politely and diplomatically especially if the one to whom you'd be telling will be affected tremendously.
