Half Tail

We have an Australian Red Cattle Dog with a half tail. Her father was a Blue cattle Dog with a stumpy tail, The Mother was a Red Cattle Dog with a long tail.
There was a litter of six, 3 Red and 3 Blue, 2 with stumpy tails and 3 with long tails. Our Allie is the odd one out with half a tail.
Is this common?
