Sometimes it's music and sometimes it's a movie. I am insomniac too and I can tell you I often fall asleep easier when I can't hear a thing.

yep. silence is okey when trying to sleep, too. especially when one's depressed or feeling sad and lonely.

Yes, I do. Some of the favorite albums I listen to in order to get to sleep include: Sarah McLachlan's Fumbling Towards Ecstasy, Imogen Heap's Speaking For Yourself, and 10000 Maniacs' Our Time In Eden.

I can't get to sleep unless I have music on. I have to leave it on all night or I'll wake up. For some reason silence wakes me up. :)

thanks for responding..i can't get to sleep if too noisy around. I've rather to hear music than to hear a noise from people around.

i have no problems sleeping. i can even sleep wherever in our house. i can sleep on the sofa, or in one of the rooms. i can sleep if the place is noisy, when the tv's on, when the radio's playing or when it's just silent. people who know me envies me since i have no problems sleeping at all.

i used to listen to a chat show on my radio at night while in bed and i had to listen to some music to wind me down, nowadays im just so tired i just go straight off most times as soon as my head touches the pillow so music and the radio isn't neccessary anymore!

I always listen to Native American music when I go to sleep...it works every time. Something about the flute playing, and the drums. It just soothes my soul.

Whilst growing up I couldn't go to sleep without listening to music. I found it to be extremely soothing, helped unwind me after a long day and just left me with good thoughts just before falling asleep. Nowadays after living in London and discovering what this habit could do to my electricity bill - I've eased up lol I still feel that I get the best sleep when falling asleep to music - and with a multi-cd changer atleast I get to wake up to some chill tunes as well

Yeah, I do. But it's more like, I like to listen to music instead of hearing nothing. I'm not sure if listening to music helps me to sleep, though. I'm a big sleepyhead _
