hey ppl...i think we are all sad after seeing the close game India had against Sri Lanka the other day.I was really sad..when they lost especially when they could have easily made da total...sigh..anywayz...India..from my point of view right now is not stable and consistent...and i think the reasons for this are keeping players who are out of form(virendar sehwag)..and impatience from in-form players to a certain extent....i think the only way to get veeru back in from would be to let him practise on seaming pitches..cause only then will he be able to realise dat not all pitches are a batsman's paradise...the bowling seems to be good...all hopes and prayers for irfan to get back in form..poor guy..looks like hes really tring..hard...anywayz...wat do u guys think??

The Team is OK....
But there has to be a couple of changes in the team...
I am ok with the inclusion of Virendra Sehwag in the team. He might prove to be a dangerous man once he gets going. Dinesh Karthik should have made way for Mohammad Kaif. Munaf Patel should have been dropped. Someone like Gautam Gambhir should have been replaced.
I think if India has team like this:
Ganguly
Uthappa
Dravid
Tendulkar
Sehwag
Yuvraj Singh
Dhoni
Pathan
Agarkar
Harbhajan Singh/ Anil Kumble
Zaheer Khan
This would be the best team for I think. Pathan, Agarkar can act as handy hitters and they will prove a lot useful in the end. Someone like Zaheer Khan also has abilities to hit the sixes. What say. Harbhajan Singh can be replaced by Kumble if required by the team and vice versa. Tendulkar and Ganguly should try to open again and find out if that works out for them as well.

the current form of indian team is really bad. but this not the time to do experiments. we have very little time left in our hands. so indian team needs experienced players though they are in not good form. pitches in west west indies are really difficult to play for us. so this not the time to think about player's current form. we have to approach this world cup with experienced playyers only.

I think we should give credit to the way in which sri lankan team fought backed not once but twice to win ths match against India. First when four of their main batsmen were out with few runs on board but they fought back through splendid partnership of sangakarra & dilshan. And then when India seemed to be in control through hundred run partnership between sachin and ganguly, then once that got broken wickets fell in a heap.
The biggest disappoinment has been senior batsmen like sachin, sourav, dhoni who were set neither of them went all way to finish the task. Besides sri lankan team bats right down to eleventh player while after kartik we can safely assume our batting was over as others simply make the numbers.
Then our fielding and catching was poor to say the least while sri lankans as alwsy were top class. Kartik misfielded on two occasions allowing two boundaries where i dont' feel even single run was there. And munaf dropping sitter of sangakarra & sehwag streaky shot also made matters worse.
I feel if Yuvraj is in team he has to play b'coz he is the finishere in team alongwith dhoni. And he is also best fielder in side too. And let's hope sehwag & pathan also come back in form that will be good for indian ahead of world cup.

You dont need to be sad. this had happened before and it will happen again. Simply becoz, we always boast that we are the best, without acknowldeging the weaknesses we have.

The indian cricket team is still so unpredictable. When the players name come on the paper it is considered as one of the best if not the best team in cricket world today. If we look at the statistics of each individual player one can get easily impressed. But still i dont know why they falter every now and then. Losing a match from a position they were against sri lanka in second ODI. According to me the weak point was sehwag. He should be sent to play domestic cricket for atleast half a year to show his form. Lets see when irfan gets his form,we need it very badly for sure.

first of all, our team is very good position still now ..but we need some changes.. tendulkar and ganguly should play opening..no need shewag to worldcup squard...because utthappa's playing is very good...dravid should play in the second down...but one, dont change position of this batsmen.. because all r talented person...while opening is good , then the forth coming batsman wil play definily suoerb.. its fact...and one thing, dont think feel abt the last match.. first c the dhoni's confident.. be cool ,... take it easy... in bowler side , agarkar , jahir, munaf patel is must...

Sehwag should be dropped and he should not play in the remaining matches between India Vs Srilanka. Selectors should take severe action against Senior players. Then only will play well. My choice is Robin Uthappa instead of Sehwag. We should give chance to youngsters. Robin played well in Chennai against West Indies. We are giving psycological pressure to the senior players. Selectors should encourage the young players. See Australian team, this is one of the secret for their success.

hey u are rite in ur thoughts but i wud say that instead of sehwag it shud be kumble whom wud i blame for the loss,, and the captaincy of dravid was also poor as he shud not hav used kumble to full after such a poor performance, for sehwag i wud say, he is a key player ofr world cup and he shud be regualrly used as a bowler too,,,, and kumble shud be shown the way out and let irfan in, ofcourse karthick has to be given chair out once yuvraj comes, then it wud be really a nice combination as veeru and pathan can be the 2 allrounders, if veeru is trued out he can surely prove it,as chris gayle of indies, who somehow contibutes in the game wither wid nasty start or nice bowling

sehwag is only in the team becoz the selecters want to see the sehwag's performance in this series ...so that they can decide either he'll play world cup or not... frm my point of veiw the kaif should be in..after all he is one of the world class feilders and India really needs improvement in feilding and kaif is a good choice. I think India will lack in any portion in world cup that is fielding....

I think the we lost because of overconfidence, ther was very good chance of winning the game but dhoni and kathik really did not played an agressively, I think entire blame should be given to dhoni and sehwag. because of those guys we lost the match

ya.. now the world cup team s selected. we have our old indian team as in last world after a lot of confusion and changing of team. now we have a great oppurtunity to win the world cup. we have good attacking 3 openers sehwag,ganguly,uthappa..compared to real facts of another teams.. india have great chance.
aussi cannot have a chance to win the world cup tis time coz they didnot have mcgrath, symonds, shane warne..
england they cant be unpreditable coz they defeat aus in common wealthbank series with out their old exp players....
sa they have few chance...
pak their perfomance s too poor in sa tour...
sri lanka only two players sankagarra&surya r constantly playing
new ze land ,they played silent game but their game is not satisfied n common bank series...
w.indies fortunately they played in their own ground but thy have not proper team
india have a good team to win the world cup... all the best for all the teams..........

Really agreable to some extent, as the visitors are without 2 of their main strike bowlers & at the same time we are with Sachin, Sourav, Dravid, Sehwag, Dhoni. These are really big names from whom we all expect a big score. Sehwag got out again by a poor shot selection, which is very unfortunate. He has to find his rhythm back somehow to tackle the opponents in the world cup. Because, he is the one who almost survived sometime in our 2003 encounter with Aussies. Irfan & Yuvaraj should get back their rhythms too, because they are genuine match winners for us & also we are missing kaif now.
