Growing up and away from Mom

Last night I had a very nice conversation with my daughter. I live in Ohio and she lives in New York City. We talked for an hour about work and then about her daughter, my grand-daughter. My beautiful daughter said "I'm sorry Mom, now I understand how it hurts when your child grows up and doesn't have time for you like they once did". Being 12 hours away from my daughter I only get to see her 2 or 3 times a year if I lucky. Her daughter now lives 2 hours away from her and doesn't always have find the time to spend with her mom. Harry Chapin said it "Cats in the Cradle". I work with lots of young people and that helps me not miss my girls so much. If you're already there, how do you cope? And if it's something that you will face one day, how do you plan on dealing with this?

I can't imagine how it would feel to be so far away from your child. I have family scattered all over, but you have a special connection with your children.
