Many Christians cite Matthew 24, in which Jesus tells his disciples that certain events will herald the end of the world:
Wars and rumors of war
Famine
Earthquakes
Persecution
False prophets
Lawlessness
A hardening of hearts
In the same chapter, Jesus also says that the Great Commission--his command to spread the Gospel to all the world--will be fulfilled before the end comes.
Citing Revelation 13, some Christians believe that an Antichrist will usher in the End Times. Many evangelical Protestants see the establishment of Israel (the reclaiming of the Jewish homeland) as a favorable sign of the last days. Evangelicals base their support of Israel on Bible prophecies such as Ezekiel 36:24--"I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land"--and on God's original gift of the land to Abraham and his descendants (Genesis 17).

This is an interesting topic. We have been studying the end times in our church. We have been reading revelations but, you know I never realized how many other places in scripture talked about the end times. We ended up in Daniel 7 : 24 Very interesting to read. And how it coincides with revelations. I am still studying it and havn't been able to take it all in as of yet But, I think it is talking about some of the signs we will see. And I have yet to find where it says when he will come. It just says to be watchful and ready. So I really don't know when. But I think the 10 horns in this chapter of Daniel if refering to the 10 countries in the european union or whatever you call it. I am not very good with words.

Yes, we won't know the day or hour, but we are supposed to be ever watchful.
I'm of the opinion as well that the EU will have something to do with the end times....and I'm hearing rumblings about Barack Obama as well.....

Nobody knows when the last day will come and so the Lord Jesus tells us to be ready always. There's no such thing as pre-trib, mid-trib, or post-trib. There's nothing new as said in Ecclesiastes. Troubles have been happening ever since. Study Corinthians for the coming of the Lord is well explained there.

I am none of them... I am an amillennialist. I used to be pre-trib, but shifted my position after I read other theological standpoints.

I have been affected by the book "The Late Great Planet Earth" by Hal Lindsey, which I read way back in 1986. This book was first printed in the early 70s. And for someone to interpret the Revelation during those times, which shows an "almost" accurate prediction, it's quite amazing. The book mentioned about famine, drought, wars, climate changes, frequent earthquakes, the breakdown of Russia, the ability of China to amass an army of millions in a short span of time....
These things are all happening right now. These days. So, i see them as the signs pointing to the end times.
I am not well versed in the Bible, but I firmly believe on the 2nd coming of Christ.

i'm a post trib sir... i do believe that the hardships the whole world is going through right now are part of the said tribulation... war, earthquake, tsunami, tragedies around the world, also terrorism can be a great factor of a tribulation...
the signs we must guard is the Holy City... It's written that we pray for the peace of Israel/Jerusalem... Israel/Jerusalem is our timeline... All the prophecies point to Israel... We have to guard the things that happen in Jerusalem, as a christian we are part of this city for we are spiritually connected to this great city...
