Some advice here please. I have a terrible stomach-ache more than 10 days. This going on years now just sometimes forgets me and some other is stronger than other. Start when I'm under of stress, I feel sad, or I get angry……..I hate doctors, I hate medicine so I try fix myself with herbs. I drink a lot of green tea and spearmint. But if you know something better any advice is welcome. I can try almost everything to see what can work.

sorry my dear I am a doctor and then I trust on medicine and I strongly advice you to see your doctor if the stomach-ache is so long-lasting. it is normal that your stomach aches you in some periods more than others...gastritis usually worsen during spring and fall or when we are stressed...if it is chronic, you should see if you have a bacterial infection coming from Helicobacter pylori...the diagnosis is very easy and you have only to take some antibiotics and it is done...if this is not the case, you shoud see what your doctor advises you to do

I agree with this doctor. You should go since you have had this for more than 20 years now. There could be something way more wrong than you think, and, obviously, the other ways aren't working that well. I only use the alternative route when I know the medical route won't work. I have also been told by holistic practitioners that you should always get advise from a medical doctor before doing anything that has to do with herbs. The herbs could actually harm you more, especially if you are allergic to them. This is my reason for agreeing with the doctor, or I would tell you otherwise. It's better to be safe than sorry.

my personal opinion is that you could be suffering from peptic ulcer disease. taking histamine-2 blockers, like tagamet or zantac, may be effective in treating it. but it's always best to seek medical advise. self-medicating may bring in more harm than good.

You must be alergic to some things. so watch your diet chart and then see what suits you best. Somtimes when you are in tension you take on more food this can also lead to tummy ache. So When you are in tension simply divert your mind to some interesting stuff. Then you feel much better. Best of Luck

What you are describing, sounds like acid in the stomach...which can cause an ulcer. If I am stressed, I too, have very bad stomach aches. If you see your doctor, he/she will probably prescribe something like pepcid ac, for the pain...or you can get something that is not over the counter. I take tums and mylanta sometimes, but I do not like mylanta that much, because it makes my stomach very uncomfortable...See what they have at the local pharmacy for acid, and if that doesn't work, talk to your doctor...

I didn't hear before about mylanta.I search at net and I see what it is .I'll ask to see if we have it here.

Sure...but do not drink too much of it, and get the one that suits you best...I do not prefer it, because it really tries to "clean out your stomach" and for me, that can be very annoying...

Another home remedy that works for acid is to drink a teaspoon of vinegar mixed with 8 ounces of water. It works wonders.

You may hate doctors but you will hate them even more if you are to far gone for them to help you, your complaint sounds like a sensitivity to wheat. if you eat a lot of bread, pasta, or wheat products try giving them up for 3 days if you stomach ache goes away or becomes Less intense then you know what the problem is also I can not eat any of the mint family because I get bloated and gassy for days, which is odd as a lot of products that aid stomach problems have a mint base, so Eliminate one of the products that you eat or drink for 3 days and see if it makes a difference, and if this doesn't work then go to a doctor and let them help you,

I understand not wanting to go to a docture but you may need to. In the mean time you might want to not drink the green tea especially if you are allergic to iodine. Yes green tea can have it in there. So something to check. If you aren't sure if you are allergic to iodine if you have problems eating shellfish it's due to the iodine in it. Something to help the stomach is Fennel Seed tea. Steep 1 teaspoon of Fennel Seed in 1 cup of water for 5 minutes and then drink. You can do this several times a day. Fennel Seed is great for stomach problems. It helps with colic as well.

I always drink tea when my stomach hurts. There's arabic tea that's good for upset stomachs, try to get some from your mother in law in egypt. Ask her if she knows what it is. But if this has been going on for years, something might be wrong, so you should go to the doctor and see what your doctor says. Hope you feel better soon :)

I'm sorry to hear your feeling ill. Hugs to you my friend. Try some ginger tea for your stomache. Use 1 teaspoon of ground ginger, 1 tsp of honey and 8 ounces of boiling water. This works for me most of the time. Also, you could try peppermint tea. Get well soon! :)

I should add that if you feel it's stress causing your stomache ache, try writing down what is bothering you and burning the paper. Sounds silly but symbolically letting go of the worry or pain sometimes helps.

I guess you'll hate my advice....Go and see a doctor! It could be stress related, or an ulcer. A visit to the doctor is necessary so that you'll know what exactly your problem is. Just medicines, there are specific herbs for specific illness. I heard that if you have ulcer, tea alone will do you no good. Garlic , Licorice , Slippery Elm, cranberry are some herbs that are good for ulcer.

Se a physician immediately. One other thing, try to determine where all of this stress is coming from. Remember to say to yourself..... "If I am uncomfortable, something is wrong with me."

Drink a mixture of 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda stirred well and dissolved in a 1/2 glass of water to relieve the rumble of acid indigestion or heartburn. Drink the mixture quickly and repeat in two hours, if needed. Adults under 60 can safely do this up to seven times in one 24-hour period. Eat a banana. Bananas soothe the stomach and counteract the acids that cause upset stomach. They are also easily digested and can help to ease diarrhea. Relax. Take a warm bath, lie down and listen to music, curl up with a good book. Let go of stress in a way that works for you. Avoid foods and drinks that may cause upset stomach or gas. Some of these are coffee, onions, cauliflower, chocolate, fried foods and baked beans.

Sounds suspiciously like Irritable Bowel Syndrome to me. If you hate Doctors, you could try an alternative health practictioner. Watch out with the herbs, as they are very high in saliclates. This is a common, but not well known allergy. Most likely you need an elimination diet, and it is best to get a profeesional to supervise this. This kind of diet is one that starts with very low allergy food, such as rice, chcken and potatoes. Then you gradually reintroduce other foods, to try and work out what the problem food (s) are. Best of Luck.

Maybe it is " irritable bowel syndrome " my friend has it and her stomach bloats up bigtime and causes her severe pain. There are peppermint tablets (Mintec) that you can buy from the supermarket in toiletrees section that are for stomach problems like this. My friend has found that certain foods set her off she she kept a food diary for a few months to try to work out what causes her a problem. The other thing she has done is increase the amount of fibre she eats . I dont know if you drink bourbon or not but she also found that 1-2 glasses of bourbon with cola or lemonade also help expecially in a warm bath. Strange but it works within a few mins. I hope you find the cause of your pain and that this is helpful to you.
