In the corporate world, you have to admit that you have to sometimes forget your good upbringing to get ahead. This happened to my sister, who was asked to replace the very person who mentored her. She was hesitant at first but after weighing things over, she felt she deserved to have that position. My sister had no choice because she wanted to advance her career and she was promoted in replacement of her supervisor. Of course, her supervisor felt betrayed and resigned from the company. Would you do the same? Would you "bite the hand that fed you" just to advance your career?
