I was diagnosed a few weeks ago with Osteopenia. I have one addiction in my life and that is diet pop. I don't even drink the stuff with all of the sugar because I am diabetic but now my family is telling me that I should drink it at all because it is bad for your bones.

I saw on the news in a medical segment a year or so ago, that it is proven that drinking, pop especially diet pop leads to bone deteriation (sp) and it breaks down the calicum and marrow in your bones. A woman was on the segment that had atleast one diet pop a day, sometimes more, all of her life and now she can't walk and is most days paralized. So, yes as far as its been seen, diet pop causes bones to get weak, rapidly
