do you prefer driving an automatic or a manual (stick)

I prefer manual tranny. It makes the car more driver oriented and not mechanical like an AT. Driving an AT feels like just playing an arcade game and not driving at all. MT also have numerous advantages over AT. MT's are more fuel efficient, has a higher top speed, more responsive(because the driver is the one in charge of gearing) and is fairly lighter in weight than it's counterpart of the same model and displacement. I also got used to driving manual even in heavy traffic. It just routine for me. Some people rant because MT's are tedious to drive. That depends if you grew up just driving all AT's or you grew up driving both an MT and AT. P.S. If you think MT's are tedious wait till your AT vehicle breaks down. Let's see if you can push start that thing.

I prefer a manual trans. as well but with my job, an auto is more practical and cost efficient. I do a TON of stop-and-go driving with my job and would burn up the cluth/trans. in no time. But if I was to buy a car stricly for pleasure, not work, I would go with a 5-speed on the floor in a heartbeat.

I prefer driving an automatic. I like being able to have my hands free so I can have both hands available for the steering wheel. I feel that it's too much of a distraction, so I personally prefer automatic.

I don't know how to drive a manual, so I drive an automatic.

without doubts the automatic one, it is much more easy and practical.

I also like a manual. When I drive the automatics I feel sleepy.

i prefer to drive an automatic. i drove a manual for about a year and i hated it. especially when the roads were icy. it just wasn't very much fun for me.
