Actually, you are partially right about coffee being a fruit. It comes from a fruit (called a coffee cherry). However, the actual product we use to brew coffee is what comes from the center of the cherry, after the fleshy, fruity part has been stripped off- almost like the pit of a regular cherry. So it's actually a seed, or as we call it, a bean.
Here are a couple of other interesting fact about coffee:
It has antioxidant properties that can actually help prevent cancer.
There is no such thing as a true "decaf" coffee. Decaffeinated coffees still have small amounts of caffeine, because the process that removes the caffeine can't get it all out.
The recipe for a perfect cup of drip-brewed coffee is 2 Tbsp. of grounds for every 6 oz. of water.

Of course, i do live in the country of coffee, Brazil.
The most high quality coffee come from here, i do like to drink coffe almost all day long... it's pretty delicious.
