When G-d passed the laws down to Moses, he made it clear which meats could be eaten and which ones couldn't. There are animals that are clean (split hoves and chews the cud, fins and scales) and those that are unclean. Jesus was a Jew and followed those laws as well.
My question to you (particularly the Mormons, since they follow the Aaronic priesthood, Aaron being the brother of Moses), knowing these laws of clean and unclean animals, why do you still eat pork?
I know that some say that Jesus's death did away with the old laws and you're saved by grace. Part of that is true: his death made it so you'll be forgiven for eating pork, but you still shouldn't eat it. Jesus also said he wasn't here to change the laws and the laws of the prophets, but to fulfill them.
There's also medcial reasons why you shouldn't eat pork. worms worms worms worms WORMS!

I don't eat pork because I am a vegetarian. Even if I weren't a vegetarian I wouldn't eat pork due to the parasites such as worms. I think that it is difficult to reconcile Christianity with eating factory farmed meat. Were I to eat meat, I would probably eat fish. Certainly not poultry or pig. But now with the rape of the seas and oceans, fish is becoming a scarcer commodity and third world country's fishing waters are traded by their corrupt governments to first world super trawlers. I feel it is compassionate to forgo all meat from the diet.

Don't worry, my rabbi is thinking of doing the same thing. Not because of the fishes becoming scare, but because of what goes into the air, land and sea...and then into our meats.
We creatures were first made to eat green leafy foods...then after the floods we were told we can eat meat.
What are you going to do when the veggies of the earth become polluted and contaiminated with today's filth?

I have an Aquafuzion system it gets out 99.98 percent of all bacteria and cantaminents in the water. The cool thing about this system is that it goes throughout your entire water supply including your shower. I use to work for them and I would do the demonstrations so I know that it works. I just thought that I would add this.

This is just another example of people making up commandments so they can call other people sinners and claim that they themselves are closer to god.
NEVER did the bible say that eating pork is a sin. It simply said that pork is unclean and should not be eaten. Why? Because back then pork WAS unclean. You could die back then if you ate pork. In our world, pork is just as clean as beef, venison, or chicken. If it is properly cooked and preserved it is one of the tastiest meats on the planet. You have a better chance of getting sick from uncooked chicken than from pork.

There was indeed a change in do's and don'ts since it is not part of the 10 commandments it is quite acceptable to eat pork. The worm factor has been dealt with and also with proper cooking that is no longer at issue.
We do eat pork and any other meat or vegetable available since it is prayed over we are protected by the Creator. Take the whole Bible and not just a portion. It is better with the whole deal.

The law of clean and unclean animal was given not because PIG was bad. PIG was good when God made it in Genesis.
God had called Abraham out and He established His covenant with him. And so Israel must live as different people, people who are marked out. And therefore God gave them Ten Commandment and other laws. It was not the other way round; not that they obeyed the law and so God marked them out.
The law not to eat certain animals was a mark of being different from the people surrounding villages. When Jesus came the people are not to be marked out by what they eat or drink, but by being in Him. They may be Jew or gentile, that does not really matter...it doesn't also matter whether you eat pig or not, you have to belive in Jesus and confess that Jesus is Lord. And when one does that you become a member of the new community, a member of the kingdom of God.
Medical reasons for not eating pork sounds ok. But there is not theological reason why one cannot eat pork because you are now marked out by believing in Jesus, not by avoiding pork.
