Well my paternal cousins are in New Jersy, they have really taught their culture to their children very nicely. Actually from the very beginning they gave emphasis on the rituals of our culture to them, celebrated every festival we celebrate here, so the children understood that it is their roots which they do not have to forget.

I think it depends on the parents totally .. I have seen both the extremes ... Indian children born n brought up here being spoilt as well as those with good culture mannerism and all.
I think they should be taught from childhood abt who they are and wat culture they belong to ...and the advantages and disadvantages of Indian as well as American culture ... So that they can realise what is good for them & wat is not

There is not much to cope with. Teenagers in India are more confused then our kids in USA. They see bollywood movies giving all kinds of messages we don't want them to hear.
Our kids grow to learn the best of both cultures. You have to teach your kids to make the right decision. There is a lot of good here and they deal with 10 other cultures and pick the best out of everything. My kids friends are Chineese, Korean, Viet, Maxican, Americans and of course Indians. They can go to any part of the world and survive there. And yes they are vegetarians, they go to tamples, they respect elders, speak Hindi and more Indian and less confused then their cousins in India.
