Breastfeeding in Public

In the state I live in (Wisconsin) we are debating legislation to protect the rights of Mothers to breastfeed their babies in public. I cannot believe this is an issue, or that a woman was actually asked to leave a Delta flight for Breastfeeding on the plane! No one questions that breastmilk in the perfect food for babies. Research has shown breastfed babies have higher IQ and less sickness, ear infection, and on and on. So, why, in a society where we can show near nudity on television at any hour and billboards can advertise with larger-than-life women in tiny bikinis is it so unacceptable for a mostly covered woman to feed her child? Side note: I had to allow MATURE CONTENT to post this!!!

This is really a sick matter, I am not bothered by it and I've yet to meet anyone who seems to be. That a such discussion would even come up is, if you excuse me saying so, very american. Censorship is so very american.

What?! LEAVE the plane?! Thats ridiculous!! There isnt anything thats irks me more (here lately) than closed-minded people. I hope the flight attendant that asked the woman to leave was boo'ed! I, too, had to allow mature content to post a discussion. I think the only thing we can do is educate people whenever we get the opportunity so the subject isnt so foreign anymore.
