What digital camera is the BEST?

Right now I have been using a Pentax Optio30 Digital Camera. I know that it isn't the best for photography use, but I am struggling to make ends meet to afford a better digital camera. Does anyone recommend any camera that I should look into getting thats not too expensive? And if not, what camera are you using? Is it a good one? Would you recomment it?

Hey, I own a Pentax Optio too!
I think the Canon A630 is the best camera in its class.
BTW, do you guys know of a small and slim camera that has a swivel-LCD?

I have a friend who is a personal photographer amd gives photography classes. I ask him for advice on purchaseing a camera before Christmas. I was interested in a digital. He told me that he has a Nikon but he said that if he did not have stock in the company, he would have a canon. He said canon cameras take better pictuers, easier to use and are cheaper than Nikon.
