Battery problems with iPod Video?

On my iPod Video, the battery icon thing is strange. Sometimes it can be at green, then two seconds be at red, then go back to green. I don't currently know what is wrong with it. It still works and everything, but I don't really know if I can trust what the battery icon says... I've only had my iPod Video's battery die on my once, so far. Re-Charged it and it seemed to be fine. Videos and music work fine, but the battery is just...Odd. Handy thing though, I'm still happy with it.

Could it be that you are currently playing something on your iPod? I think when you're operating your iPod, it naturally puts stress on the battery, that's why it changes from green to red. This is true also in other devices, like in cellphones. When I took a call on my cellphone, I noted once that I had good battery life. After the call, I noticed that the battery icon was in the red, so I told myself I'll need to recharge soon. After a few minutes, I noticed that the battery icon was green again. Could be that the same is true when your iPod is in operation. However, if it still cycles green to red several times when not in use, it could be a battery problem. Try completely discharging the battery then recharging it fully. If the behavior still happens, you might want to have your iPod checked for servicing.

I normally have something on the "Now Playing", but it's normally paused. I don't know how to stop playing it completely instead of pausing/stopping it.

Seems a major problem with iPod for years. Apple trys to solve this with many models they sent out on shelves. But still the same.

Yeah, the same thing happens with my iPod. It normally changes from green to red when I'm viewing videos though, which I expect because that means it's using a lot of energy. I still get to watch several tv episodes or movies on just one recharge though so I don't really think of it as much of a problem. I'm happy with it, too! Hehe.

happens to me too. I'm watching a video and it will be red then it will turn to green. I have always figured it was just stress on the battery then I stop the movie and it turns to green.

The ipod looks on what you are doing at the time, and changes the battery icon depending on that. If you are looking at pictures, the battery can go very low as it is very energy consuming for the ipod to keep oading images. If you are listening to music, it uses barly any energy as it loads it once.
