wash and cut squid in ring form, about half and inch thick then put some sprite or seven-up,salt and set aside. for the coating, flour, pepper, salt and msg,(monosodium glutamate) we call it here vetsin, put a pinch.mix well, for frying use vegetable oil or any oil you want. drain the squid, and coat it with flour, then fry until golden brown. and for the dip, you can use vinegar and chilli mix together. good day happy eating...

I also have a squid recipe but instead of your coating I used the breadcrumbs like the one used for breaded porkchop. - Cut the squid into rings. - prepare 3 small bowls for the following: - beaten egg - flour with a pinch of salt and pepper - breadcrumbs (japanese breadcrumbs recommended) - place squidrings into the beaten egg first then the flour mixture then to the breadcrumbs then put it straight to the deep frying pan. Fry until golden brown. - dip it in the mayonaise and catsup mixture. You will surely love it...

Hey, thanks for the nice recipe!;) I've always wanted to cook some of it but forgot how my uncle told me to, I like this cooked for "pulutan"!;) But I also enjoyed it as a variand for a hot, bowl of rice. By the way, could we take it's skin off so that it wouldn't be like a rubber when eaten!;)
