I was reading my U.S. News wire when I came across this amazing story I thought I would share with you. The dog was reportedly looking for food for her puppies when she saved a 2 week old baby girl from a forest in Kenya. The dog took the baby that was wraped in a dirty black cloth, and carried it across a busy road and through a barbed wire fence and placed it close to her own puppies.
The owner of the dog, Mary Ahaimbo said her dog cared for the baby until it was found by human rescuers. Miss Adhaimbo washed the baby and the ambilical cord that was covered in magets. When the baby was clean she then took the child to the hospital.
the hospital confirmed that the 3.3 kilogram child was left out in the open for at least 2 days. The hospital christened the child Angel.
This is living proof that dogs really are mans best friend.

Holy, i dont know how anyone could abandon their baby like that. Just leave a poor baby, your own flesh and blood to just die alone, that baby did nothing to deserve to have that happen to them. At the least they could put the baby somewhere where someone will find them right away and give them a better life. I think they should find the mother of that baby and tie her tubes so she can't get pregnent agian.

I think this is a GREAT story for a wonderful dog. Its a wonderful story to show how they are great.
But at the same time, its sad that someone left their baby to die in the cold :(( that part makes me sad :((
Glad the dog found her though.

That was a great story. It is a sad story to of how someone can have a baby and leave it out in the cold like that. People must have lost their mind to be able to do something like that.
Two thumbs up for that gracious dog. I love animals and some people say they are stupid. Animals are very intelligent. Thanks for the story.

Apparently it is a common thing in places like Kenya where 56% of the people make less than $1 US dollar a day. This seems to be a problem that they need to address. like abstanence.

I am amazed that a dog knows to save a human especially a new born , I find this happens more than we actually hear about it .I can`t understand why a mother would leave her child in the wild where wild animals can find and eat it .
I don`t know much about this country , but it must be a country living in Poverty . I feel sorry for the Mom for having to choose this escape , and how does anyone even know that the mom survived at all . She may have bled out after delivery ,who knows . This is a terrible idea but a possibiliy we do have to think about .
I am so happy this dog came across this child before another animal did , Animal Instincts I guess . Dog has been deemed to be Man`s Best Friend for a reason .
Thanx for sharing this amazing story .
Bless that Dog for Being Man`s Best Friend ..........

Great story indeed! Grateful because even a dog these days try to exert effort to do humane things inorder to remind the people to stop their doing of inhumane things. Think you're in same boat with me then. Yeah, in this scene, there is a bit part in this world that someday, dogs or other animals in the low-levels (according to the heirarchy of life) would prevail and be true heroes than the human beings itself. Oh my God, this is gonna be weird if during that day, we are being led by our pets!

Oh, how amazing! I love hearing stories of animals helping humans out!! ^_^ I can't bear to think what would have happened to that child if it had not been found, and I'm amazed as it is that it stayed there for two days unharmed, in the forest! Wow.. and that dog was so kind to take it and care for it along with her own puppies! This is just the kind of heartwarming story that I needed to read on Valentine's Day, thank you!! ^_^

Perhaps something happend to the parents maybe they were killed or may be I just don't want to believe that some one could do that to a precious child. Let this be a lesson to everyone that God does exist and watches of his people. God bless the animals and the babies.

I figured it was a girl. A lot of people in 3rd world countries (I think mostly men) really want their first born child to be male. I don't know if it's superstitious or some cutural-socio-economic thing.
If the first born is not a male, the mothers leave the daughters in the forest or kill them themselves- if they don't they get punished for having a girl first.
Thank God we have dogs in this world.

That is such a wonderful story. I absolutely love dogs and would argue that I have the world's greatest dog. I enjoy reading stories of dogs, or any animal, that did something extraordinary.

That is a great story. I seriouly don't understand how people can just leave their children like that somewhere, and the child can't even take care of themselves. They should of gave the children to adoption agent or something.

What a heroic act for the dog..and a very irresponsible act for the human who doest even care for the baby...Why is it sometimes it is the animal who is acting humanly rather than a human? How pity the is the mother of a child, the dog is more intelligent than her...
