About Lungcancer and smoking ......

I have smoked for many years now. My birthday is next month and I have promised myself to quit smoking on my birthday. That will be a nice birthday present from myself:) A longer life. hehe. Here is some facts about Lungcancer and smoking that I found interesting: * Lung cancer is the number one cause of cancer deaths in both men and women in the United States. * More than 200,000 Americans died from lung cancer in 2006. * ONLY 12-15% of patiens with lung cancer are being cured with today's treatments. * More than 90% of lung cancers are preventable. * The overwhelming majority of lung cancers, greater than 90%, are caused by cigarette smoking. There are currently almost fifty million smokers in the U.S. and another fifty million are ex-smokers.
