What's the weirdest amount you've been offered for an article at AC?

OK, I don't know if weirdest is the right word... but for lack of a better word I'm going to use it.
What is the weirdest amount you've been offered for an article at Associated Content?
Today I was offered $4.53. I don't know why that struck me as kind of funny. Not $4.00, not $4.50 but $4.53. I've never had an odd amount for it before. It was the 3 cents that put a smile on my face. Maybe it's because I've been sick and haven't had that much sleep. :)
It was for an article that I submitted for payment but afterwards thought I should have submitted it for non payment but hey, they offered me $4.53 so that's all right with me.
So I'm curious, what's a maybe...odd amount you've gotten offered for an article at Associated Content?
If you want to see what I got offered $4.53 for, you can go here to see it: www.associatedcontent.com/article/142029/kevin_federline_super_bowl_commericial.html

My most recent AC offer (my 3rd, since I'm new there) both surprised and thrilled me, even though the amount was odd.
I got offered $25.60 for an article on deciding whether to go to graduate school, work, or try to do both after finishing college! I thought the maximum offer ever was $20 and wasn't expecting even that early on, so I've been happy dancing ever since!
I also got my first rejected for payment article today - a humorous piece I wrote about taking public transportation. The rejection note was kind, just saying that while the article was entertaining humor articles really only get paid if they are deemed something that will attract a lot of traffic.
My content is under "Pam M" or easily linked from my mylot profile if anyone is interested. Thanks!

I've only ever been offered even numbers: 12.00, 10.00, 15.00... never have I been offered a number involving cents. I didn't think they even did that! You're right, it is a very weird amount. I wonder if this is new, or just something they don't do often? Now I want to submit some more stuff just to see what the number I get offered is!

Same here, I didn't know they offered anything but whole dollar amounts until I saw a post on Mylot yesterday. My offers have all been $3, 4, 6, 7, etc. Maybe they figure is they offer 4.97 instead of $5, etc. on thousands of articles, that'll save them a lot of money in the long haul. Probably doesn't make the writers feel too good, though.

I just got my latest offer under the new system, and it was very disappointing. Usually I get $8-10 for an article and my newest article on Saving Electricity only got an offer of $4.12. I have never got an article priced this low. My lowest offer was $6 for my very first article (or $5 for a news item, but these are very short and quick and only pay that amount). I guess I will have to work on longer, more targeted stories.

That is disappointing. My lowest was the one I mentioend when I first asked this question but I wasn't really expecting a lot for it. Are you working on anything now?

I only just stated submitting things but the two articles that they bought from me or paid me for both ended with threes lol. The first was $6.03 and the second $5.53. Maybe they are on a three kick these days.
I have no idea what some people are making on their aricles but I for one think that it's pretty cool and a nice way to add to my 'rainy day fund' lol.

I was offered, both today, $4.97 and $3.97. Those are a bit strange to me. I was also offered the other day $15.88 for an article. I think I found that one truly strange.

That is strange. It makes you wonder, why didn't they just go for a solid dollar amount, like $5.00, $4.00 or $16.00?
I'd love to check out your stuff, can I have your link?

I went over and read your article on Associated Content (and gave you a five-star by the way). I have never been offered such a weird amount. Makes me wonder if they have come up with some new formula on Associated Content. You can find my writings under my name over there: Christine Zibas, if you want to have a look. (I'd post a link, but MyLot won't let me until I have more postings.) Just curious...how do you decide what to write about for AC?

Sometimes I just go by their weekly newsletter by what they are looking for to decide what I write on. I have lots of ideas floating in my head but I've had a hard time writing something for Associated Content because usually I've written fiction so I'm feeling.... a little inferior because there are some really great articles on Associated Content and I tend to spend a lot of time on what I'm writing, and I haven't gotten the keyword density down yet. I haven't written anything for a while but I need to.
I just read your article on How to Save Money on Groceries. Since there are five of us, that's definately something I need to do. Nicely written.

I know that this is an old discussion, but it's interesting to read about what others have gotten for upfront before. Just reading on and I think your article is great. Awesome..
