What do you think of animal shelters making it into the world of myspace?
I for one think it's a wonderul way to campaign for awareness. It also helps generate interest in a whole new age group since most myspace users are between 16-26.
I volunteered to start an official myspace for the SPCA that I do volunteer services at and I moderate the site on a daily basis, with constant updates on adoptable animals. I know of a few adoptions that have been a direct result of MYSPACE.
THAT is an amazing feeling to know that MY idea helped get a homeless animal a fur ever home. Absolutely amazing :)
What are your opinions on bringing animal shelters into the online community?
If you'd like to check out the site I moderate go to

and by all means if you are an animal lover and have a myspace, please add us

i also think that's a great idea. they're raising awareness and will probably get many leads from myspace. that's great that they got some adoptions through this already. `i think you did a great job by requesting this idea and managing the site for them. i'm not quite sure how to add you but i'll try. i recently started a myspace account.

I think that any tool that can adopt animals into good forever homes is a great thing.

No problem! I figured maybe more people will start one if they hear about it! :)

It probably could. It doesnt hurt to try. We've been up and running on myspace for about 5 months and already have 1400+ friends. It's a great awareness approach :)
