I found out a little after I started taking Paxil six years ago, that stopping it can cause withdrawl that is similiar to flu symtoms. I was able to swallow that. Then, they said that your baby could have temporary shakes after birth. I digested that also. Now, they are saying that if you take Paxil while pregnant it can cause birth defects in your child. That one has got me stuck. Paxil is one of the only psych medicines I can take and I want children more than anything. I tried a lot of other medications before Paxil and I usually got at least one of the severe intolerable side effects. Paxil really works for me and I don't want to change it. I know that it is hard for the makers to do extensive testing before releasting the product, but I wish we could know these things ahead of time. I don't feel hopeless, because I believe in miracles. It's just that sometimes we have to wonder if what we are using for a cure is not worse than the ailment
