Never through out a toothbrush when it's been retired from brushing teeth! You can use them to clean lots of small things around the house. I use them to clean around the faucets on the sinks, the back of the computer fan, regular fan slots, the air vents on the PS2 (it gets a proper cleaning twice a year), to work cleaning solutions into clothes before they are tossed in the wash, cleaning tile and grout on the tub and in the shower, working stains out of the carpet and hundreds of other things.

I know, I should take the time to preview my comments first. Your mind is going faster than your fingers. You never know what will come out, lol.

I'd save up my dish washed water to water my plants. As I had a lot of plants at one time, this saved me some money. Another one is when I wanted to deep fry some meat, I'd placed newspapers around to catch the cooking oil sprayed. In that way, I have less to clean at the kitchen.

I always clean my windows with a solution of water, and fresh lemon juice instead of shop bought, chemical window cleaners. It gives the windows a nice, clean, bright sheen to them, and of course is much cheaper, and better for the environment that buying window cleaning fluid. Nice idea for a thread. Thanks.

If bathing a baby could be construed as a "household chore" than this is one I liked. When your baby can sit up and starts to have baths in the tub, run the water and put a plastic laundry basket in. Put the baby in the laundry basket. It lets him feel more secure and prevents him from slipping around as he can hold onto the sides while you have both hands free to wash him. Don't think that he'll be safe in there though and go answer the phone... :)

Be organized, a place for everything and everything in its place. If there are too many things to don't have a place it is time to rethink if you really need them and perhaps be rid of them. By being this way you will take less time to get all your chores down. Also with no clutter you will actually feel better and be able to have a bit happier lifestyle.

here are some Kitchen tips:
1)To determine if a egg is fresh immerse it in cool, salted water. If it sinks it is fresh otherwise it is not!
2)Potato absorbs excess salt.If you oversalt your dish try putting a potato slice in it.
3)to prevent potatoes from budding place an apple in the bag of potatoes.
