I pushed too many buttons at once and my blank VCR tape became stuck in the machine, which is a dual DVD, VCR player (vcr only recorder). How can I remove the tape without damaging the machine or spending a lot of $$. Thanks

mygod just take the top off, chances are it just came off the track, and would be very easy to fix...I do it all the time. It is not hard and will not break your machine, plus its easier then paying a repair man to do the exact same thing, that takes two seconds and would cost nothing if done yourself...reminder don't forget to unplug your machine first...

Maybe i need a better screwdriver, I have been trying to get the cover off and have not been able to remove the screws on the back of the machine. Thanks everyone... I will keep trying.

Pontgtp, I had the same problem last week and did the unplug trick. I unplugged it, forgot about it for a while, then when I plugged it back in it worked again. I had convinced myself that maybe it was just my imagination, so I was glad to read that you suggested it. Huh...must be something to that! I'm still thinking maybe I need to get one of those cleaning tapes though and run it through.

If it still won't work after trying it again in a few hours, take the top off and you will see how to get it out from there.

Use a screw driver and take the top off. The actual tape is probably stuck around a reel. You can ease it off, hopefully without harming the tape or vcr. Keep in mind that this will void any warranty you might have on the vcr.
