My best friend doesn't trust me anymore?

I have a friend which was and still not just like my brother i consider him one of my brothers, we were talking and i said something, it was a joke but he did not take it as a joke, he took it as a personal insult and he told me he is not trusting me like 2% which makes me fell guilty about myself, i appologized many times and i told him that it was a joke but he told me that he believes me and it was really a joke but hell not trust me like he did before. Please tell me what should i do to earn his trust back, because if he keeps doing this, i'm sure that i'll do something to myself which i well regret for the rest of my life.

it must have been some joke there that you played on him. now the jokes on you. you have hurt his feelings pretty well for him not to forget what you did. let time flow. time heals all wounds as they say. and try not to keep the issue up everytime you meet.

Hey, lighten up. Let it pass.. Surely your friend is just taking time to cool off. DOnt be too bothered of what you think had hurt him. You're only human, you surely will commit mistakes.. Just give time to heal.. everything will soon be fine.

Maybe your friends feelings were hurt and he overreacted. I would just continue to be his friend and if he really is your friend then he will either trust you again or maybe he just said that because he was hurt. You have appologized and explained it to him. That's all you can do it's up to him now. Just be his friend, time heals all wounds.

I ran into the same situation with my cousin a couple of years ago and am still trying to make her realize that she took me the wrong way .
The only thing I can suggest is to just keep telling him that he really did take it wrong and that you will do anything to prove yourself to him if he would just tell you what he would like you to do .

When trust is lost it is so hard to retrieve.. What you should do now was to let him see that you're still the same old person he used to know and how sincere you are for the frienship you built together with him..

do not warry about this , you must be far from him about 2 or three days , after this tell anther friend about him , the 3rd friend must be a good friend of you both , the 3rd friend must talk to him
