what type of festivals do you got?

here in Baguio, Philippines... we celebrate "PANEGBENGA" (panagbunga). A floral parade to celebrate the bloom of our city. "PANEGBENGA" means "TO BLOOM" in english. We celebrate this annualy from the month of February.

The fourth of July is about the only "festival" type celebration we have in America

In America we have many holidays, like * New Year+ it is the first day of every year.some families gather but most of us go to new years eve parties and wait for the ball to drop and count down to 12:00 midnight. *Valentines Day = is a to show someone that you love them, it started out for couples but now people send flowers to their kids at school, some send flowers to their moms.some couples have nice dinner .*Easter = a religous day of when the jesus arose from the grave.easter basket for the kids and some adults,new sunday outfit for most..*4th of july = a day we celebrate for our indepenence (our freedom).we have public display of fireworks, free hotdog and drinks in our town..Thanksgiving ,pilgrim day.family large dinner with turkey.. Christmas= baby jesus was born.We buy gifts for family and friends.famliy gathering christmas tree with lights, beautiful wraped gift. we have mothers day = we get gifts for our mothers..maybe fix or take her to dinner..fathers day =we get him a gift, fix or take him to a meal.. in our small town we have Hilbilly Days it is a three day festival , it is great !!! it is used to raise money for shriners hospital for kids... there are all kinds of festivals in Kentucky, one every month..

Happy new year! I am from China. The festivals in Chinese New Year is very national and jollificate. And In those days the family which is apart some times will get-together. So the days in Spring festivals is our national festivals. Cheers.

Here in Cebu, Philippines we have a Sinulog. It is on every January of the year. It is a festival in honor of Señor Sto. Niño. We have many activities here during that time, we have street dancing, fireworks, and others. Also in Bohol, Philippines we have a Sandugo. It is on July of the year. The festival is a celebration for the friendship between Spaniards and Boholanos. It is Sandugo or Blood Compact because before the two leaders of the two race became friends and then they drink each others blood as a sign of their friendship.

we in india have a lot of festivals and its full of fun and deepavali what you mentioned is not a new year but something else and today is valentine's day its kind of a festival for all youths. so how are enjoying it.
