Harness VS Choker VS Collar

Which do you prefer for your dog and why: a harness, a choker collar, a regular collar? I love a harness because it does not choke the dog and they seem to be rather comfortable in one once they've worn it a couple of times. A regular collar can choke them just the same and can slip off. A choker collar makes me feel bad when it "chokes" them. A harness seems best for comfort, safety, and keeping them leashed.
