We make sushi at home most Friday evenings but we can't get much of a variety of fish so its usually prawns, tuna and salmon - sometimes mackerel.
Otherwise we eat sushi in restaurants about once every two months; we have some reasonably priced places near us but it can be very expensive

That is the way it is here in the states, too. In the community I live in, there used to be a really great Japanese restaurant and I would go there regularly. Now, the only sushi in town is at a Chinese place and it is really just a few types of vegetable sushi....not a wide range. But when I go to the city, I do try to get a meal at a restauant which serves fresh sushi.

I try to eat sushi at every opportunity!! And I agree it is expensive at least I haven't found an inexpensive sushi place - if an Orlando FL people know of inexpensive and GOOD sushi please let me know. We try to hit a hibachi restaruant at least once a month (the hubby get hibachi and I get the sushi).

If sushi were not so expensive, I would want to eat it once a week at least. Honestly, it has so much variety and I love it that much. Otherwise, I would say that I eat it about once a month (from the supermarket) and going out for the good stuff, maybe 3 times a year. I do want to try making my own at home more often, but decent sushi grade fish can be expensive or hard to find.
