Why do people feel they need to show me their website?

I don't understand how asking a simple questions gives members the idea that it's okay to give me their referral links. I think their response is only to leave a link in hopes that I would be dumb enough to click and actually sign up.
Well I won't click it and I suggest others do the same, just click the negative rating button and don't even respond to it.

why do people show a link to thier website? good question really. but think of it this way why do you show anything to someone else? simple reason really you want to share it with them. you found something you think is great for others to know about.
true is could be for greedy reasons but i would like to believe it is to share.
I have left the link to the station i Dj for on many topics because i would like to share with others what the station has to offer, and it is free to listen. I make no profit from it.
it would highly upset me if i got a negative rating for doing this.

Hello. I am not really talking about links that are just plain helpful. I am refering to the affiliate links or referral links people make money from.
I don't mind it, if I asked for it but when I get them in my discussions without asking. Those are the ones I get up set about.
I actually like getting links that will help me.

People will find any reason they can to insert their referral link from anything into anywhere. Most of the time it has nothing to do with the question and its quite annoying that people take advantage of website like this for their own selfish purposes. I think putting a referral link of any kind into a post should be banned. I think it would be ok to insert a web link to another site if it has something to do with the question but even that would give people the idea that their referral link belongs there.

Some times I start discussion and then realize I didn't word them very well. I should have stayed in school all those years ago. :)
Basically I was referring to those discussions I start that are not asking for any links or references. those are the times that I get ticked at people for leaving their referral links.
I must say that I appreciate people that take the time to find a link that will help me and pass that on.

I find a lot of people doing this and I am suprprised that myLot allows it. I noticed one guy posting topics on how to get more traffic to his website and he includes the link after every post. I have given up responding to these topics as the are only using myLot to get referrals and never post a decent discussion.
