Anyone have it? How do you deal? I have had it since I was about 15. No one knew what it was until I was 19. I have had a laparoscopy and laser surgery. It caused problems with me getting pregnant with my first child and we had to do fertility. I finally got my beautiful baby boy. Now we are trying for a second and here we go agian. We have just started the clomid again. This stuff is a major pain in my butt!!! Anyone tried any new procedures? After my second child I would like to start trying something to atleast give me some comfort for a while. The laser surgery lasted about a year and it came back twice as bad. I have a lot in my back which is where I have pain all the time. Then 3 weeks out of the month I hurt in front. My mother has it so it was passed down to me. Sometimes I hope I don't have a girl just so she won't have to go through this!!!

I had a doctor tell me that what I am going through is from endometriosis, but it was not causing so many problems that I was ready for treatment so I put it off. Well, she left the practice and now the one I have gone to because the problems are life halting at times says that I have PMS. I was floored. She did give me a shot of depo, and we are giving that a try, but if it doesn't help, I will be finding another doctor. I know lots of women who have PMS and This is NOT just PMS. I looked it up online and found that this is normal and I now know what to say to her when I go back in 2 months.
If you had to do again, would you still have the laser? That is what the 1st doctor told me we should look into, and her recommendations. I have heard good and bad things about it, and am sure of what to do.

OK, let's try this again. I just wrote a page full and it erased it. Yes, I would def do the laser again. I was pain free for a year. It did come back and worse but I had a pain free year. I did the lupron also which made me crazy!!!! I was a very mean person. I'm glad I wasn't married then b/c I would be divorced. If this doc doesn't help you, go to another. I don't know where you are but here they have docs that specialize in that and fertility. I haven't gone to one yet b/c my doc is doing good so far. You know your body better than anyone!!! I went to a few docs before I found one to help me, and according to the lap I wasn't crazy, it wasn't just in my head!!! I hate you are going through this. There is also a endo support group online. I haven't been on there in a while. Good Luck!!!

I agree get a doctor who will help you. My doctor has been great, he tells me all my options and tells me the good and bad about both of them. I am only 25 years old and in 5 years have had 10 surgeries. I am pain free for about 6-9 months. Those moments are so nice and I usually say 'Oh it's not that bad to deal with', until the pain comes back. I have tried Lupron as well HATED that. and done some studies too. At the same time have been doing fertility and only gotten pregnant once and lost it at 10 weeks along, but I have a beautiful daughter who we adopted. So if you are not trying to get pregnant there are things you can do (like Lupron) and some other things that do prevent pregnancy but if you were like me surgery every 6 months was my only option to be able to continue trying to have a baby. Good luck.

I had my first surgery for it when I was 14 back in 1997. I was completely covered in it. I was seeing a specialist at the time, having tons of pain in my back and front. He decided to do a lap. on me and that is how it was found. More than likely it had been there for several years. The surgery worked well, but I had so much scaring from it that getting pregnant would be almost impossible. I went through the depo shots, the lupron shots(DO NOT recommend to anyone)and tons of other trial and error processes. I have recently had to have surgery again back in Feb 2006. This making my 2nd surgery. The doctor that I have now also did a dye test on my tubes. They are both blocked. I have found that if you are having alot of trouble and pain that laying on my back with my knees on several pillows and a heating pad has helped a small bit. I personally am on the depo. It has totally done away with my cycle. I am not having to worry about the normal monthly cramps on top of it. It is something that is hard to deal with every day. You have to keep your mind centered and find anyway to relieve the pain. Some people have told me that accupuncture has help them. I have heard that herbal remedies have calmed it too. I guess it is just a hit and miss type of thing. Good luck.
