How will you answer to a request like this?

My friend's father x-ray result was positive of lung problems. The family wanted him to give up smoking. He is 72 years old but he refuses to quit. He begged his family to stop asking him to quit and let him enjoy his life since he is not going to live long anyway.
Will you insist that he should quit or will you just let him continue the habit?

If everyone has tried begging him and he still won't quit there really is nothing you can do. He probably figures he is 72 and no one is going to change him. So let him be. Otherwise he will just get mad and stop talking to everyone

Let him continue to smoke. If he stops now, all his ailments will start coming out of his body, and he's not gonna be able to enjoy his life then.
