The last book I read was "World War Z" by Max Brooks. It's a fictional firsthand account of the war between humans and zombies. It's scholarly in tone, engrossing, and very hard to put down. It's an absurd topic, but the boy can WRITE. I recommend it, if you're into that sort of thing.

Right now I'm finishing up "Rising Up and Rising Down" by William T. Vollman (the abridged version). It's a non-fiction book that lays out a moral calculus to determine when violence is necessary. It's really good read if you're into that sort of political and philosophical thing.
Lately though I've really been into modern fiction. Thomas Pynchon is the kind of modern fiction I think and I would recommend him to anyone looking to get into that genre. But be prepared, his stuff is not an easy read. New guys like Vollman and David Foster Wallace are good as well.

I have recently re-visited some favourite books of mine since childhood--the Flowers in the Attic series by VC Andrews. I haven't read them in a good ten years, but for whatever reason I picked them up again just a few weeks ago. There are 5 books in the series--Flowers in the Attic, Petals on the Wind, If There Be Thorns, Seeds of Yesterday and Garden of Shadows. In 3 weeks I have already read the first 2 books and I'm half-way done the third. After this I hope to start on VC Andrews "Heaven" series.
I also recently read Night Shift by Stephen King, a collection of short stories.
I also read when I get a chance The Tree of Life by Israel Regardie. Fascinating and full of wisdom!

right now I'm reading The Pact by Jodi Picoult and so far so good. This is the first novel I've read by her but she came highly recommended by friends who have read most of her books. I mainly read anything sports related, mainly hockey but every so often I like to pick up something different.

A good author that I have recently discovered is Gregory Maguire. He takes fairy tales like Cinderella, Snow White and Wizard of Oz and rewrites them. Usually from the point of view of one of the traditionally unpopular characters. His writing in almost in the style of historical fiction, and in certain books, such as Mirror, Mirror, he does include real historical details. His writing is very interesting and it keeps you wanting to read more. Even though you already know how these stories go, he adds an interesting twist to them.

Hi! I read Can You Keep a Secret? by Sophie Kinsella. I really liked it a lot. She has an interesting writing style and the plot twists were not predictable. :-)

I read two books a month. I don't whether to say I read often or not.
What kind of book would you like to read? Fiction or non-fiction. If fiction then science or western or some pulp fiction. And the same thing goes with non-fiction also: Science, philosophy, history, theology, biographies and so on. Even in science itself there are so many varieties. Cosmology or biology or physics and so on.
Sometime back I read a book on The Man Who Divided India. It's about how Pakistan was carved out of India. Written by Rafiq Zakaria, an Indian scholar.
