Is India losing it's culture by imbibing western culture

I feel that India should embrace the western culture to a certain extent to wipe away blind beliefs and faith.Women get benefitted a lot by embracing western culture.Gone are the days when women were treated like slaves.Today they are considered equals in all areas in most part of our country.India's culture and heritage is something to be proud of.Though we embrace the western culture I feel that we should never forget our Indian roots.One man and one woman relationship is most prevelant in our country.This is something which we should never let go off.By embracing the western culture we should not let our culture fade away.I feel there is no harm in following good things from the western culture and leave the bad things behind.I think by adopting this strategy our Indianism will not be lost.Correct me if Iam wrong!

ya i do feel so bt to an extent its fine coz it lead to upliftment of women n economic development bt their were adverse effects to which we hav embraced with happiness once we get rid of that........... INDIA WOULD RULE !!! remember we hldnt forget ur roots

It all for the development of India as a whole. For example during 200 years back, we were not aware of technology and were living in the dark. When all the western things started coming into India, people here started thinking and progressing well in different technologies. The only way to take India top in everything is to live like the one in top. Best example would be: A company from western manufactures a product (Lets say cosmetics). To beat that company Indian company should manufacture the same thing with high quality. Then automatically Indian product will reach all over the world. I dont see that following western culture is wrong. But in terms of relationship and friendships, yes it is really going very bad.

I think to an extent thats true...but Indian culture teaches us to embrace things which are correct and self rightious..So embracing western culture and its probity , will give a new edge to our culture and will shape it to new dimensions ..which I think is necessary in this every time changing environment...
