First off, welcome to MyLot and thanks for joining under me - any way I can help, send me a message.
I am now talking about the UK.
There are plenty of people around here on dialup as I am right on the edge for broadband from our telephone exchange and can just get half a meg speed. That is still 10 to 20 times faster than dialup so no complaints.
For dialup it is best to keep a pay-as-you-go account with your email ISP if you change company for your broadband as if not, you will be able to receive your old email but not send them without connecting under the email ISP. I'm talking POP mail here - not Inbox or similar online mail boxes.
For dialup, the easiest in the UK is FreeISP. They are not the fastest but you don't have to muck around signing up; name, address, colour of socks, etc. you just enter this info into your DUN wizard and you are connected!
Dial up number; 0844 711 0059
User name; freeisp@internet
Password; internet
If you want free email and webspace you need to register your email address at http://www.freeUKISP.co.uk
For a faster dialup (I can get up to 42kbps) Tiscali and Virgin do well. Avoid Orange - they seem to have no interest in dialup customers now (they used to be Freeserve/Wanadoo)

Yes ! I am using still the dial up type connection. I am based on a Farm which is situated quite far away from the township and because of this there are practical difficultuies to get Broad Band installed for my PC to run internet.
I am using Airtel prepaid connection and I am using my Mobile phone as Modem and I use data Cable to get connected to PC.I am paying around $7.00 per month which I think quite n economical one!
Thanks for initiating sucgh a nice and informative discussion !
