I think tax amount should be totaly different for different income level people. For poor people there should not be any tax really, I mean under one level of income they can fix it. And for middle class tax should be less.

yea, something like that because, they keep taking taxes out like it is nothing, and you know what it is the worst, one time i talk to one of the irs people they said the taxes are rightfuly theirs, and i have to pay them no matter what. i wonder what are they doing so important to make them say that, all they do is say on a chair every day and do nothing else. and i dont get it why they say it is their money, we are the one that work hard for it, not them.

i am not going to disagree with your or agree with you, but i seem so many riches people's kid get hand downs that they are very lazy at time, they told me that they goes to school just to party because they can since their parents pay for it, and you say that poor people is lazy, not all of them, you cant judge everyone that is poor or rich the same, it is all about what they are. i am myself in the middle class or lower, i used to work three jobs just to so i can have extar money. but how fair is when you cant get ahead, because the more you make the more they take out, they should make a better system than they are right now. small business owner get screw the most speicaly when they first started they pay alot for tax, but cant get nothing in return, i know because it happend to me before.
oh yea by the way i rated you comment too and i give you a plus, i give everyone a plus good or bad, figure if they take the time to response i can take the time to rate them and respond back.

Sweetlady I couldn't disagree with you more.
The rich should not be punished for being smarter and having more money. "Take from the rich and give to the poor" is one of the most destructive economical thought processes in history.
It seems fair to the masses, but only promotes laziness and socialism. Believe it or not, it is even worse for the poor in the long run b/c the ultra-wealthy donate more to the poor than anyone.
Oh yeah, just I cause I disagree, you still get a + from me. Booooo to those who give a - just because they disagree.

I'd say it's too little. We get some tax back but then we have to pay some, so in totals we don't really get tax back and that's frustrating. I do it dilligently just because it will cost me more if auditors find out I hide anything.

yea i wonder what happend if everyone refused to pay taxes, and you know what is wrost, the tax we are paying right now are for the retire people today some of it, and most of it goes to wars, the worst parts is when it get to the time for me to retire, there wouldnt be enough money for me to retire on, so all of those taxes i pay in, it is gone by the time i am retire. so what am i suppose to live on than?

Generally speaking, taxes here in the U.S. should stay as low as possible because it promotes more business and we all make more (yes, all of us).
A huge problem is not only the amount of the tax but how we spend it. Government bureaucracies are very inefficient. Governments spend $5 for a job that should take $1.
We should privatize as much as we can and get government out of our way. It's what separates us from third-world countries.
Oh yeah, and the Iraq war is not that expensive percentage-wise compared to our GNP. That is more important than dollar amount. We're not going broke over the Iraq war.

yea i argee with you on that part, speicaly small business, it is very hard for us to get started, and the govement take alot of tax. and i used to have a friend who is in the army he told me that they waste money on alot of things like fancy car, as merecde benz and stuff like that and when they go train in a different state, or whatever they get to stay in fancy hotel with spending money. we are broke over the iraq war, that war was pointless to began with anyway.

You make great points about the expensive cars and hotels. That again goes to my point. I wonder if they are trying to privatize MORE parts of the armed forces (no I don't mean having CEO's command the troops).
I mean giving more and more contracts to private manufacturers or enterprises. Of course there has to be competition though. Not just one pre-selected company handing an overly-padded bill to the gov't. Mercedes should compete with Dodge (or whoever) for the government's business.
That's how we really make things better. Spend smarter.
I disagree with you on Iraq making us broke b/c of what I mention in my original post, but great response.
