Yes natural disasters happen all the time, anything from a drought which could lead to forest fire if a lightening strike hit the arid ground to flash flooding or the tsunami which hit Indonesia a few years ago. In fact they are coping with floods again right now. Of course you had the hurricane which destroyed much of New Orleans, and which to this day has not been repaired. It can be argued that human activity can increase the intensity, frequency and effects of natural disasters. Long term, we are clearly affecting the climate, climate change will inevitably lead to higher sea levels, greater ranges in global temperatures, destruction of areas of land. But humans also have a tendency to live in dangerous places, for example around volcanoes, because the earth is so rich in nutrients it yields great crops, but our earth is a living planet, volcanoes and earthquakes are part of it's balance and existence. Earthquakes will happen along the fault lines, but people still live in Japan, or San Fransisco despite the natural disasters that have occurred there before. I am not being critical of populations for living there, because wherever people dwell there is an element of risk, but your question invites many examples of the fact that natural disasters will not only happen in the future, but that they are happening and have happened to this day.
