Animals are an integral part of life for many of us. However, I continue to be concerned, upset and downright angry when I think about dogs or cats who are abused, neglect or abandoned. What steps can animal-lovers take to help rescue these pets from horrible situations?

I feel people need to be sensitised so as to care for animals not only pets but also for stray animals so that street dogs, cats, cows, monkeys and so on can be taken care of in a animal shelter or can be treated for their wounds in animal hospital or by calling a vet. I feel stray dogs should be sterlised, mechanism should be found to feed these street animals some leftover food so that they don't eat garbage or get ill.
