and being taken seriously for any furture endevours.
I personally think she has. This was a high ranking lady in the military. Highly intelligent. Or book smart at least.
She has been in Space. Apparently while she was in love with one of her fellow astronauts. The problem was another girl is in love with him too. Aint Love Grand.
So the astronaunt drives 900 miles across country to confront the other woman.
She apparently slapped on a diaper so she wouldnt have to make stops across the way. This has made her the laughing stock of the space program and probably every late night television show too.
She was found with a trench coat, pepper spray among other things . So her intentions were of hurting this other woman
I dont think she could have picked a worse time for women , with a lady running for President this year. This lady has really made women look like they have too much of an emotional side to be taken serious.
What do you think

No I don't think this discredits women at all. On the other hand, I think it shows that highly intelligent respected people can have their problems too. After all, austronauts are people to. And unlike the normal average Joe, they are probably under more stress.
I would discredit the media before I did women. They are the ones making her a 'laughing stock' as you put it. Would you say that President Clinton's affair discredit men every where?

One intelligent Astronaut,(who happens to be a woman) looses control and we are discounting all of Woman kind in thier ablity to be leaders? Give me a break... if given the statistics there are 70 men to 1 woman who prove dangerous and unstable. Are we discounting the male ability to be leaders? Truly we should have had women in office long before now.

I frankly wondered the same thing. There has been so few women and astronauts and some people are looking for reasons to keep women and other minorities out of certain professions. If someone is being fair it won't make any difference but if they are looking for some reason to discriminate then I'm sure they will use this as an example.

Exactly. That is what I worry about too. But apparently we ar e in the minority. Most people do not think it is going to be an issue at all.

My husband and I were talking about it and he pointed out something really interesting. Whta this lady did really shouldn't set womwn back at all, but should make people think about a couple of other things with the situation.
He stated that when people are extremely inteeligent or have more "brainactivity" for lack of a better way to phrase it, that brings EVERYTHING up a notch as well, including their emotional responses. For most of us, putting on a diapre and drving however many miles she drove, seems nuts. But she wears a diaper as part of her job as an astronaut and tha tlittle drive to Florida seemed just around the corner compared to getting in a space ship and heading to the space station!
My husband slays me...gawd I love him....lol

I think your husband is wrong. I dont know where he gets his statistic or data from but it is not correct. Not at all.
But thank you for taking the time to respond.

I don't think this incident will make women look bad at all. This indicent just show how when you think a person is stable that sometimes they may not be. This woman was desperate and was not in the right frame of mind when she did what she did. what if the shoe where on the other foot.

All people have an emotional side, however when it is a woman doing it we are labeled emotional. Wemen need to learn that we think with our heart and keep it in check. If all wemen stopped cheating with married men or with men who are taken who would the men be cheating with.

Thank you for taking the time to comment. This is a deep thought. I dont know the answer to it. I dont cheat and dont know why people bother getting married if they are going to cheat

Do you call THAT WOMAN who is running for PRESIDENT of the U.S. a lady? OMG!
If we were to vote or not vote based on your premise then we would not be voting for a HUMAN BEING to run the country. Brother.
So can anyone give anything like forgiveness to humans? Are you so venomous in your opinions that no one can be given a pardon or being given an excuse? Are you so perfect that you have never done anything that friends or family or society would have to forgive you?
MUST BE A JOY TO BE YOU.

I really don't think she has hurt women because mental illness strikes everyone in our society. Look how many men have embarressed our country. There are stupid people in every part of society and every job. But I do think it will make any man who may become involved with her think twice. And every woman who knows her think twice about crossing her. It's too bad she did this. She will have a lot of time to think about her mistakes and hopefully she will get some help. MIshelle

I personally think that she just hurt herself. Not all girls are like this one who was just insane. For people to judge other girls because of one's faults is kinda wrong I think. It shouldn't have any effect on anything else going on in the world like Clinton's run for office.
