Have you had a bad experience with the police,you sound very bitter towards them .I would have thought in a country like Canada the police would have been good.

It depend on where your police are.
However, I think that in most places, the police treat the people the way the people treat them. In most cases if the people are courteous, the police will be too.
in our contry I thank they are good. If I get into an unknown street I always ask the guidence from the police .I always have good experience with them.

I am pleased to hear you have faith in your police they are the people we call when we need help so it would be awful if you didn't trust them or have confidence they would really help you

I believe, with all people there are good and bad. Yes there are the donut eaters and yes there are the heavy handed ones. but there also the ones out there that really do care about there jobs as being a cop. I know were i live the bad probably out weigh the good ones. I do get upset with them at times. I have a 67 chevy impalla california lowrider. and every time I drive that car into town I get pulled over. Not because im breaking the law, but because they think im out to cause trouble.I guess they want to see who is behind the smoked glass.. I just have to remind myself. that they are trying to do the best they can. And I just keep telling them I love fast old cars with class... maybe I'll get it threw there heads one of these days.

I wouldn't want their job they have to make split second decisions and try to decide who is doing the right thing and who isn't.It always amazes me that when they stop cars 9 times out of 10 they stop the person who has a record or been involved in something they seem to have a second sense about these things.Then there are the people like yourself who are constantly stopped for not reason .Hope they get it one day and leave you alone

The police force in Portugal is somewhat moderated... There ws only case i know of violence and was when people was contesting the raise of the 25 Aprils brigde tag poll. Result many injured and a kid take a rubber bullet in his spine that maked in paraplegic...

They have a tough job and deal with tough people so i guess at times they loose it but dont we all they are only human after all

Well, that depends on where in the world are you. In my country..corruption is so rampant and most of the officials including the policemen are blinded by money. Aside from which, policemen can be bought..meaning, if you were caught bya policeman, you can just pay him with some amount and he won't give you a ticket or won't put you to jail. Sad to say but that is reality here in my country.

I imagine the police are very busy and have to respond to the worst problems then if time permits handle the lesser complaints.If you had a man in your home bashing you or your family and rang the police and they didn't come as they were at someones house because the kid next door swore and threw stones in the garden you would be very angry.They have to prioritize there work

Good question! But a little hard to answer without knowing where your police are.
However, I think that in most places, the police treat the people the way the people treat them. In most cases if the people are courteous, the police will be too.
On the other hand there are certain people who let their mouths get them into trouble.

I agree i am in Australia and we have a lot of respect for our police and think they are basically good .As you said they treat you as you treat them most of the time .They deal with some of the worst people and see some really awful things it has to affect them

It seems that here in Aust. we are the only country that has any respect for the police maybe there will be some people later that have a better opinion of them
