i get twitches sometimes, but i dont know what casues it. maybe something happened that day, or hit it or something. its not serious so i never asked a doctor about it, i figured they would make a mountain out of a mole hill and id end up paying for something stupid. just keep applying pressure to it, thats what i usually do.

Yes I have had this many times and not just the right eye. It is due to sress of the eye muscles. The only way to make it go away is to actually rest the eye. The best way to do that is to close the eye for about 30 minutes and it should go away. We put a lot of unrecognizable stress and strain on eyes all the time.

I have been getting htis in my right eye as well for many years..it comes out of no where! Its like your eye is having a convulsion!! lol!! and it feel soo weird!!soo i did some research for us..and i found it really helpful for me at least so i will share if thats ok..
Stress
Irritation of the Cornea or Conjunctiva
Fatigue
Lack of sleep
Prolonged staring at a computer screen or television
Nervous system disorders
Blepharospasm or eye twitching is believed to be caused by an abnormal functioning of certain nerve areas located at the base of the brain which control the coordination of muscle movements. In the majority of people it appears without any real known cause. Frequently, the signs and symptoms of dry eye occur right before or along with the appearance of eye twitching. Some research indicates that dry eye is a trigger for blepharospasm in those people who are may develop it. Occasionally eye twitching may run in families or be side effect of certain medications.

And ,,,Occasionally, your eyelid may twitch at random. This involuntary twitching of your eyelid muscle typically lasts less than a minute. But it can be annoying.
The cause of eye twitch isn't known. But it may be associated with fatigue, stress or caffeine. You may be able to relieve eye twitch by gently massaging the affected eyelid. To do this, move your index finger back and forth from the inner to the outer part of the lid for approximately one minute. Use the same amount of pressure that you use on a computer keyboard. Massage may be more effective if you first use a warm, wet compress on the eyelid for 10 minutes.
An eye twitch is usually harmless. Rarely, a twitching eyelid can be a symptom of a muscle or nerve disorder. But in such cases, eyelid twitching is usually accompanied by other symptoms.

Sorry to be so late in answering. Thanks so much for the info. It finally has gone away, for now lol. I"m sure it was a combination of fatigue, stress and sugar lol. Was on a sugar high lately. (love my pepsi). And I just changed jobs so the stress level is gone. I cut back on my sugar intake and so far, that's helped. I appreciate your research, good information there.

I get that all the time. I usually just flail and curse until it goes away. I don't know of any suggestions on how to stop it. Someone did once tell me that pressure supposedly works, but I've never actually tried it myself. Good luck with that, those are damn annoying.

I used to get them every so often until I started paying attention to what was going on while my eye was twicthing. It was stress. I still have the twitches, but at least I know it's not some neurological problem.
