My husband made so many of our Christmas gifts this year. He is so talented. I am working hard to do quality discussions so I can purchase him some more tools for his woodwoking shop. He loves to do woodworking but patterns are really expensive to purchase. We use the internet for most of our patterns these days. You have to do some searching but you can find a pattern for just about anything for free online. There is this great site that till send you free woodworking patterns to your email. Even if you dont do woodworking now, it may be a great way for you to learn this great craft. You can sign up for the free woodworking patterns at this link:http://www.freeplans.com/
It is totally free and you can unsubscribe at any time. Enjoy

He sounds like quite a handyman to have around! I hated woodwork at school and always had bad memories of the teacher showing me up for my bad joints and shoddy workmanship. I am hopeless with a piece of wood. But I admire your husband's obvious talent for carpentry, good luck!

I doubt if I will need the website as we have all the tools, but my husband wouldn't even be able to cut a piece of timber in a straight line. However, I will have a look at the site and show it to him. It might just give him some motivation. Thanks for the link.

I do a little woodworking not a lot but I would love to start it more. I have been on this website before. I think that it is sooooo sweet that you are buying him more tools. You are sweet to do this for your husband. I am wanting to get enough to purchase a used x box for my husband because his went out.

Wow, this is great. I just got the pattern, what a great idea for using up scrapwood.
I am a woodworker at heart, but can't afford the tools to really make a go at it. I have a scrollsaw and a table saw and a drill press and the usual hand tools for working around the house.
I love the smell of sawdust and wish they would make a man's cologne -l'eau de sawdust.
I can see myself stack cutting a skillion of these on the scroll saw and giving them as little gifts for no reason at all to friends and neighbors.
Thanks

I saw a site today where you can sign up for a free saw blade. Is that something you are intersted in?

If your husband is good at woodworking, boy, that will provide you with an excellent source of income. So many here in my country, have achieved great financial gains from it. It starts with a hobby and grows steadily until one finds that he now has a factory. Very nice, very great, too! Best of luck on your way.

I agree with you, woodworking is a great craft. My step father does wood work, he makes such gorgeous items. He also made alot of Christmas presents this year. I personally think they are the best. He made me a beautiful chair using purple heart wood. Thanks for the link for the free patterns, I will pass it on to him. Good luck with your discussions, that's very sweet of you.

My husband has a lot of free time on his hands. It is about time he put the power tools to use. Thanks for the link to the site. He loves to create things. Free patterns are wonderful.

Thanks for this, since we homeschool, this will be for my son and daughter to make things for practicality and gradning for art. Such a grand thing to share from the net for others to partake of. Thanks again for sharing this and I am hoping you achieve your goals for the purchase of those tools.

I remember when I did woodworking in school, I really enjoyed it. I can't imagine spending the money right now to get started on projects like that again, but I will take a look at the site because I'm really curious what all can be made from home. Thanks! I really would love to be able to do some woodwork if I had the funds *laugh* I just love arts & crafts & all that kind of stuff! ^_^

My father was an excellent woodcrafter, too. Until he became sick, I remember watching him in his workshop basement making me a rocking chair to match the one he made for his mother. He used to make toys and benches and other things he'd sell to neighbors and friends. I wish I could have learned!

Yes it is very cool!
At school i used to work for my local council for work training. the first time i was helping the fitters but i had a another chance to go back and this time i worked in the production plant.
I helped to make the frames and setup the next steps etc. this is something i really enjoyed. It's very skilled and you need to have a good knowledge of maths etc.
Good for your husband! alot of those who are into have a great skill.
Kudos,
~Joey

My dad used to do tons of woodworking. A lot of our toys were hand made. My sister and I each had really elaborate dollhouses that he had made himself. Plus my folks still have a lit of bits around the house that were handmade....shelves, benches, chairs and the like.
